| MISSION STATEMENT - The Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary was established to rescue
foals, mares, geldings and stallions and place them into loving
homes. We rescue the equines from slaughter and qualify potential
adopters and foster homes. We do site inspections and monitor
progress of new “families” with follow-up visits
and/or veterinarian reports. We believe that we are responsible to both parties for the
success of the new relationship. |

Dear Friends In Rescue,
Just like expecting parents, we are anxiously awaitng the arrival of this years rescued foals. They have spent extra time with their moms and now the babies will be finding their new life-long, loving homes, just as 260 have already done over the last 9 years. Everyone on the team of voluntEARS has been uplifted along the foals rescue journey.
The other good news is that 10 more Premarin farms have closed. That means that only 6,000 babies will be born and at risk of slaughter in 2010. After 9 years of rescuing and adopting slaughter bound foals there is a good chance that the recreational market will absorb all the ones born next year. If so, this could be our last year of rescuing Premarin foals. We will be monitoring the situation very closely so that no foal is left behind.
Please enjoy meeting the babies by viewing their new pictures which we have just posted here (click on "our foals"). In December, Anna Twinney(see www.reachouttohorses.com) will be coming to Ray Of Light Farm to shoot a training video with the new foals. After making soul-to-soul introductions and gentling, they will learn how to wear a halter and a blanket, lead-line, board a trailer and pick up their feet. Five foals, all in five days!!!
Please check back for details of the foals graduation day event which will be held on or about December 10th at Ray Of Light Farm. Also, please spread the word about the foals and yearlings to friends who may be interested in fostering or adopting. Many of the video stars will be highly educated after working with Anna Twinney, but don't overlook the yearlings from last years rescue and the yearlings we rescued this year from the feedlot (also pictured under foals).
Finally, we could not do this work without every body's help. Please use the paypal buttons below or send a donation to EARS, 214 Candlewood Mountain Rd., New Milford, CT. 06776. Many small donations will get the job done and you will see how "rescues, rescue, you!"

| NEWS! |
About Our Book,
It has been our dream to show exactly how valuable the PMU horses are and so we have worked on this book for almost two years. Now you can buy our new book, which is published by Lyons Press, directly from us and you will also help raise awareness about these endangered horses. All of our proceeds from each book sale go to EARS' rescue and adoption mission. The book, with spectacular photography of foals, mares and rescuers, would make a wonderful gift and save horses too! The book is signed by me and the horses and the price includes shipping. You can also get an unsigned copy from www.amazon.com for about 40% off and they give free shipping if you buy two.
The photographs (130 of them) and stories feature ruggedly beautiful horses in their natural splendor that transform from once-wild creatures into loving and intelligent companions, bonding with their human families. Included are stories of successes great and small: foals growing up to be national competitors, therapy helpers, and members of families that are healed by the love of a devoted horse.
Uplifting, and with gorgeous photography, "Equine Angels: Stories of Rescue, Love, and Hope" will inspire, delight, and teach life lessons through the wisdom received when connecting with these noble equine souls. "Equine Angels" illustrates how people and horses are deeply touched along the rescue path. Enjoy the rescue journey and see how "Rescues, Rescue Us"!
Thanks for visiting and for your interest in helping us to save mares and foals from slaughter. We hope that you enjoy their photos.
